Woven Maheshwari Silk Cotton Sarees – Pure Handloom Maheshwari Sarees
Maheshwari Sarees are hand woven using a special technique by artisans in Maheshwar town on the North bank of river Narmada in Madhya Pradesh state. During Maratha Queen Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar's reign, Maheshwari saris rose to great popularity. It is said she herself designed the first sari. These sarees have a distinctive design involving stripes, checks, floral zari borders and pallus.
