Uppada Jamdani saree is an exclusive light weight handloom sari created by weavers of Uppada village in East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. Each saree takes 2 to 8 weeks to weave with 2 weavers working 10 hours daily on the loom. Work involves lay out design, interweaving silk threads and looming. Uppada weavers were recognized with Govt. of India President's award in 1972.
