Bengal Jamdani Sarees
The Jamdani technique originated in the Bangla speaking Eastern region of the Indian subcontinent. From its roots in Dacca it spread to the Bengal region of India along with migration of weavers across borders. Bengali weavers bring a distinctive 'bangla' design aesthetic to bengal jamdani sarees. Cotton, Linen, Khadi, Matka Silk, Silk Cotton and Tussar Silks are predominantly used for Jamdani work.
