Very fine and thin Cotton and Silk threads are woven together in a unique way to create checkered patterns with square gaps called Khats. So Kota Doria fabric is light and airy. Kota Silk and Cotton sarees are featherlight. Many years ago Rajasthan royalty used Kota Doria fabric for turbans and later got it woven as sarees for their queens.
